Ways to Sign In

There are two ways to sign in to Vector on iOS: using your Apple Account, or using a Google Account.

At this time, you need an internet connection to complete the sign-in process, and to accept invitations to join other teams. Once you're signed in, you don't need to be connected to the internet to use the app, or to sync with others. In future versions, we plan to allow offline registration and sign-in.

In order to sign in with Apple, you'll need to use the account you've already linked on your iPhone or iPad. If you're not already using iCloud or an Apple Account on your device, you'll first need to go into the Settings app on your device, and sign in there.

Using a Google account may offer more flexibility, as you can use any Google account - either personal or a work or enterprise-issued account, and it isn't linked to your device like an Apple Account is.

Signing In to Vector

Once you've decided which service to use, tap the "Get Started" button, and make sure you're on the "Get started with unstoppable operations" screen. The process for creating a new account is the same as signing in to an existing account; if you've already registered with Vector, just use the same provider (Apple or Google) and we'll recognize your existing account, and sign you in.

For an Apple Account:

  1. Tap Continue with Apple.

  2. You'll be prompted to authenticate with your Apple Account credentials: this may be by entering your Apple password, or using biometrics like Touch ID or Face ID, depending on your device and account preferences.

  3. Once you authenticate with Apple, if you're creating an account, you'll be asked what information you'd like to share (your name and your email address). Vector only receives the information you choose to share here, and you may also have the option to use Apple's Hide My Email feature, depending on your iCloud settings and subscription. Vector is compatible with Hide My Email.

  4. After you make your selections, tap Continue, and we'll attempt to sign you in (or create your new account) with Vector.

For a Google Account:

  1. Tap Continue with Google.

  2. Your device will ask whether you want to proceed to "google.com" to Sign In. Tap "Continue"

  3. Complete the sign-in process with Google, including any two-factor authentication steps that may be required. Vector never has access to any of your credential information or multi-factor authentication methods.

  4. Google will ask if you want to sign in to "Vector iOS". Tap "Continue" to return to the app and create or sign in to your account with Vector.

Joining Your Team

When you create an account with Vector, you're automatically given your own team to use. You can create your own missions, tasks, markers and other data, that are specific to your team. You can also invite other members in the app, using the "+" button at the center-right of the home (map) screen.

If you're signing up to join an existing team, like for your company or agency, ask any existing user for an invitation to join. They can generate these invitations in the app, and they can be shared as a link or a QR code.

Scan the QR code, or tap the link to open the invitation, which should launch in the Vector app. If you're already signed in, simply tap "Accept" on the prompt that appears in the app, and you're all set! If you're not signed in, you'll see a blue banner on the Sign-In screen, and once you sign in or create an account (see steps above), we'll automatically make you a member of that team.

Common Issues

"Something Went Wrong" Error

If you see an "unable to sign in with Apple/Google" error on the Vector sign-in screen, this is usually due to a network issue - either your device is offline or having trouble reaching our server. We recommend confirming you have access to the internet, or waiting a few minutes and trying again.

Forgot Password / Two-Factor Issues

Because Vector doesn't collect or maintain your account credentials, we are not able to provide password resets for your account. Depending on the service you're using (Apple or Google), you'll want to contact them directly to regain access to your account.
